RC Driving Style
OK, i've got my first onroad car, and coming from a bashing background i'm curious if there are any onroad driving secrets for bashers. I spent a couple hours running with friends in a lot and i was all over the place. the only thing i'm sure of right now about this car (rs-4) is that it's very quick and very squirley....at least with me driving it.

You have to keep in mind that it's lighter than an off-road truck or buggy and it's more aerodynamic. You also have to keep track of ur setup for different tracks (racing) and ride height. If u run the car w/out a lid the car will be all over the place. If u need more info send me a PM

Yeah, it's not like a truck. I experienced the same thing, w/ my new touring car. I was running topless & couldn't get any traction. I finally put the lid on her & it changed the whole scenario. Make sure the body has a wing on it too. The touring cars aren't like the trucks, and even the smallest changes can make a huge difference in handling.

Later...:mex:

you aren't kidding about keeping the lid on. i had to do some fine engine tuning and i was running it w/o a lid for a bit, that thing was everywhere, even did a kartwheel once :P put that lid on and it did stick about 100 times better. i dont have a wing on it yet, but will look into one soon. thanks for the tips. i think it's more of a getting used to onroad driving thing more than anything else right now.

Yeah, engine tuning count and general car tuning play a big part of it. But you are right, about the driving style being different. You have to use a little more finesse when driving the touring car. It's not like the trucks where you are either going WOT or sitting there idling. The touring cars use alot more of the mid RPM range than the trucks. You will pick up on it pretty quick. I'm still working on it myself.

lol i was just thinking about mid range rpm's. i bet i did circles for a good 5 minutes from huge to very small just getting used to how the car turns and doesn't skid, very unlike offroad cars.

however after i got done with the onroad stuff, i went bashing my 1/8'th buggy and i found myself slowing down for curves and stuff instead of just bashing on it :P

If you are thinking of running on a track keep your car in the center of the layout let off the throttle on turns & minimize braking sort of drifting thru the turns & run a very good aerodynamic body stratus 2.1,alfa romero 2.1,Mazda 6,nemesis
