Hey guys, my d8t already has an in-tank fuel filter, do i need to run a secondary inline before the carb??? I am already doing that, I just want to know if there is any use for it. It's really a pain in the butt to put it on as there is almost no space on the tank for it or anywhere in-line for it. It fits, just barely. I would rather not have to deal with it, however, i will not risk an engine.

Honestly, will harm be done to the engine if i run without it???

If you have an in-tank filter you SHOULD be ok if you can get to it to clean it. If you can't it will clog long before any damaging stuff could get to your mill.

I just make an extra run of fuel line routed behind my rear shock tower and attach my inline filter there.

Thanks for the honest reply. I think it is causing a little bit of a lean issue at idle. I will try to run without it for a tank and see if it IS the issue of if i should look elsewhere. Thanks again.

I did not add fuel line to put the fuel filter in, I just "spliced" it in. I can get you a picture if it helps. She had a high idle after a run, but settles nicely in like 10 seconds after idling. I have read that it could be because of a overly rich high end, which I have. Do you think it is a rich HSN???

Taking a picture right now and uploading to photosuckit to give you and idea.
