is there something i can use in the place of the green slime stuff used in the carb adjustment needles while sealing it? Perhaps something i could get fron napa or something.

Nothing that comes to mind, the best thing I've found is the AE green slime.

i use heat proof grease for valves and faucets ...never had any problems with it ...got it at the hardware store for a few $$$
