Just picked up my new axial SCX10 from the LHS, ($239.99) and was trying to figure out electronics........


would a traxxas XL-5 ESC with the titan 12 turn be too much for this thing?

I've read a number of people using the XL-5 with the 12T motor w/o any issues. In fact this is the exact same setup I have planned for my SCX10.

just how fast do you want the truck going? I think it would be fun for running around but sucky for crawling. my 35T warrior came in today btw. Gimme a week and we are going to have to drag race these trucks.

ya i hear ya, axial tranny's take alot of abuse really though, look at some of the binds they get out of without snapping anything, I've busted all the internals on an axial trans but it took along time with 3s and alot of binding so I'm sure it will be fine.

If your worried about abusing the tranny, then you might think about putting a slipper clutch on it, that would help reduce the shock on it.

I'm not too too worried about the "crawling" part, cuz i still got my scorpion, I'm gona rob the tamiya kit for the XL-5, specky reciever, and waterproof servo........ gona start the build prob on sunday night or somthing.

that was all part of the newspaper. after you hauled off with half a mil in cashola, hobby towne had to close.
