Hey guys I have a question about my newly acquired (cl) scx10. Guy has a brushless 3500 vlx and esc in this truck and it seems like way to much power for the driveline. It's been throwing the cvd drive shafts out under what the "hulkmax" would consider easy driving...Anyway I'm familiar with the wraith but not the scx 10 has anybody run this motor and esc in a scx 10 and had any experience with this or other breakage? Just trying to figure out what parts to pick up before I go crawling this weekend.

p.s. I've already locktighted the set screws in.
p.s.s. new to the forum, so just saying hey!

Not sure why it's throwing drive line parts. I run a 5800kV brushless in mine with no issues. How much voltage are you running in it? What's your gearing?

Hulk really did smash my maxx LOL! I checked your pics are those Hot Racing drive shafts? Is it, throwing them off the diff's or the trans side?

Thanks for the reply's guys. it's running a 16/87 tooth gearing and powered through a venom 3300 2s lipo. It has 2.2 x 5.5 ripsaw tires and wraith rims on it. it's throwing them at the diffs has tossed both front an rear.

It doe's have set pins in it right?

It has set screws in it. Not pins. I'm not sure what the issue is thought it might be drive shaft ought time somehow???? I just changed out the allen set screws to a longer one I had here and relocktighted them. Will test after they set up. See if that makes the difference.....considering drilling out flat on diff to accept some pins....????? I'm thinking these axles are shot anyway so it way be a good time for a set of portals. As long as they hold up for a few battery's this weekend then rippem out!

If the grub screws are in it I wouldn't think they could fall out.

They do come out. I used some heat shrink over mine to keep them in. The WB8 uses Grub screw with a pin similar to the Traxxas ones.

Interesting fix with the heat shrink. if the locktight don't hold I'll try that out.
Appreciate the info. :)

On the older SCX-10s, yes. That's why they introduced the rings to go over them. The newer Wild Boar shafts don't have that problem.
