Screw kit question.........

I've been contemplating ordering a bunch of screws and extras to make some kits for a T-maxx, and finally got the nerve to ask:

Is 12.9 blue coated worth the price difference over black oxide 12.9 hardware? I know the blue coated stand up to corrosion and rust better, but I see a ton of people buying the plain old black oxides and having zero problems with them.

Do I really NEED to get the blues or no? The price difference is astounding, so I was wondering if the performance difference goes along with it.

I have been running black oxide screws on my Maxx through some of the wettest terrain around. Aside from a mild case of oxidation (rust), the screws are just fine. Save your money.

Awesome!!! In case anyone is looking, the best deal I've found so far is from fastenerhut (www.fastenerhut.com).

12.9 heat treated alloy screws, 100 of each size needed for the T-maxx comes out to about 44 bux. Thats cheap enough to justify one kit, but its enough to do 3 trucks and have leftovers for everyone.
