Why is it that the Savage is considered an 1/8th scale while the t-maxx is considered a 1/10th scale?

they are the same size and almost the same wheelbase. why are they two different scales?

Here is a photo comparison.

I wrote a "shoot-out" article comparing the T-Maxx & Savage, and that was one of the photos that I used in the article.

What is a Rc10 Gt considered in scale size, isnt it 1/10 ? WOW I had no Idea a savage was so much bigger than a Maxx I have never even seen one lol.

the savage is significanty larger than the maxx.. what size is the mammoth?? its F-N huge!!

"close" doesn't cut it. if the Savage was 1/10 it would be the same length as the T-Maxx, not "close".

okay, that's why I asked a question. you don't have to be a smart ass about it.

and also, now that I think about it. the lenth probably doesn't have all that much to do with it. My t-maxx is much larger than my 1/8th scale buggy.

yeah but a full sized buggy like that is like the size of a VW bug....they're pretty small compared to a F-350 all jacked up on swampers

Here is why since the size comparison does not convince you.

T-Maxx is 1/10 because Traxxas says so.

Savage is 1/8 because HPI says so.

I like the way you think!

yea, okay. its all good here :eyes: :jk:

that's just something thats been running through my head, that's all.

it's about to be real cool because i'm soon buying a savage.

scale is scale. 1/10 means that 1 inch on the model equals 10 inches in real life. It doesn't matter much what Traxxas and HPI say. Whatever crazy monster trucks they model their chassis and lids after are either 10 or 8 times bigger.
