Hey guys I really want to get into scalers, but I have NOOOOO clue where to start:\ What is the best way to get into them besides a scx? AN does anyone know where i can get a quad cab ram bodie? Any ideas an help will be greatly apreciated. Thanks!!

Theres alot of kits out, like the scx stuff, tamiya stuff and rc4wd stuff but if you dont want to go that route, you can start gather parts. Start off with some axles, axials, although not perfectly scale, work great and still look pretty good imo. After you get axles and a tranny, pick a chassis, the X trail is a good cheap chassis to use too, then suspension and so on.

Proline has some dodge bodies, I think they have a mega cab if that will work. Wich with the right offset wheels, like 0mm offset 1.9's on axial axles, would prolly fit pretty good.

The scx kit is a good base though, build it, get rid of the lame body and go from there.

Where is a good place to get the scx10 kits? An the xtrail chassis? Thanks

Also do you just use crawler electronics? Thanks

I have two scx's so I'm bias but IMO you'll either pay a lot more or wish you had started with the scx, the scale look and performance is tough to beat. Take a look at the different scx's that have been done just on this site and you will see many different looking and performing trucks that all started out the same...Your personal touch is what makes it different!

If your buget is fat RC4WD might have what you want

+1 on the scx kit. for a capable crawler/scaler hybrid, its tough to beat especially for the price.
