I wondered what would be a good engine replacement for the SC8?
The stock one sucks Fuel like crazy. I'm going to use that baby on the track at 80% of the time really few bashing.
I'm not looking at a high end first place engine. Just more efficient and better than the stock one.

Any thought?

:)

Really? I haven't timed it but my SC8 seems to do ok on fuel. I've only ran 8 tanks through it so far but last one I was pulling it pretty hard.

What is your run time per tank? I'll check mine as soon as I can run it again.

Hi Racer 1966.

I have Ran mine today with a new fuel Losi race 20% and I ran it for a good this time.
I wasn't pushing it yet. but I was running good.
I still have air bubbles in my fuel line. coming from tank.
I post back when my new tank arrives. And hopefully I'll have it tuned.

Got it running.

Hi,

I finally ran it. That was fun I got everything sealed, the new tank and a new glow plug. after all of that, it is still sucking fuel like nut and still run hot. I just found tonight that I have fluid dripping from the flywheel bearings. So I'm good to take everything apart and change them. Will keep you updated. The few I ran, was awesome. I love this car. I might change the engine, but I love the way it drives. on a 48s lap at the track with my slash, I dropped 10s without pushing it and a puffing engine... I love it. Did I already say That I love it ;) :D

Finally fixed the problem...
I mounted a Clockedwork Racing clocked JPX 21 with a JP1 pipe. And it rips. I have better mileage, more power, wider rpm range, more torque. what else can I want. this car is fun and has really good handling now that I took it apart and readjusted and fitted everything with blue thread-lock. it is a fun toy. I love it.

Sounds good - I'm glad you're running how you want now. I think I'll stick with the stocker for a while and see how it goes.

I ordered the bearings for the stocker I'll mount it and keep it for everyday and play. I'm keeping the JPX for track. I want to race. :first_place: or at least try and have fun.
Have a good time with yours. I love mine

Is there a class for it at your track? Here I would have to run with the sportsman buggies but with the big body, roll cage and bumpers on this truck it won't handle like a buggy,

I'm seriously considering converting it to late model dirt oval car.

We don't have that class yet. but, we are now 5 SC8 on the track and are seeing more and more interest from peoples that find the SC8 more fun than buggy. Not as fast and precised of course. but more like a real truck and car.
I used to rally race in France and with the SC8, I can do what I was doing with my Subaru WRX. I really love it and I don't want to change it. I ran the new engine today at no more than 60% throttle on the 3rd tank and this is crazy good. really smooth and power full engine I really like the feeling of these 60%...

SWEET!

That was a blast. Now I have to stand next to the car and not be muscles tight after a crash...:D
I can jump that baby further than a Subaru (at the scale of course)
I ran it at the track last weekend and it is sweet. I'm in love again ;)
