I recently picked up a Savage.25 rtr and was still in the breaking in process after i ran my 5th and last tank b4 i was gonna start dialing in the hsn. on 6th tank of gas b4 i even played with the hsn i couldnt start the truck , it would sound like its turning over and it is getting spark cause i checked the plug so i kept trying to start it but eventually flooded the engine so i removed the plug and released the pressure as instructed and still no go !! after looking harder and yes i did check my lines and there all fine but i think i may not be getting fuel in the lines !! pls help I'm a noob to rc last car was when i was 15 lol about 15 years ago but luved em since, can't wait to rip with my SAvage ,,, could it be the one way bearing in the rotostart??? or something? cause i did flood it and may have damaged to rotostart perhaps? does the one way bearing have anything to do with why I'm not gettting fuel to the lines ??? any HELP would be much appreciated - can't wait to start Truckin !!!

did u make sure that the glow plug is working? i think u might have a burnt out glow plug.

bryan

Check the glow plug by holding the threads in a pair of needle nose pliers and put the glow ignigtor on it, if it glows brightly it's good, as far as the roto start if it still turns the motor without any problems it should still be good, if you want to "prime" the motor you can put your finger over the tip of the exhaust stinger and hit the roto start for about 5 seconds, then try to start.......if still no go put the HSN back to factory setting and start it that way and tune it while it's running

Sorry bout that I though you had already tried to adjust the HSN. My bad :sorry:

from what the instructions say in the manual i did check the plug and it lit up bright and looked fine from what my bad eyesight could see lol I'm a noob when it comes to nitro but I've been hearing that the factory plug should be replaced asap, could it foul only after 5 tanks? should i lean up the engine from the factory settings ? could this be the prob now that it trying to run to rich? I'm from toronto canada and its near 0 outside :)

sry for my dumb ???'s but what exactly is the stinger on the exaust? thx alot 4 ur help :)

yes glow plugs can fowl that easy. i have gone through 5 of them during the break in on some engines. it is a good idea to have extras laying around. also if it is cold outside, take a lean it a hair.

works for me

bryan

Do you have a garage that is somewhat warmer than the outside temp? If not take the truck in the house and let it warm up for a few, it might help.

the stinger on the exhaust pipe is the little piece that sticks out of the bottom. where the exhuast comes out from

lol thx thought so >(8(|) Doh ! ill try and thx again fellas for ur help this forum kicks ass :)

No prob Sunny D, thats what we're here for, let us know how it goes with the new rig!

omg you guys rock lol i was just priming the truck by using the rotostart i did what u said with the stinger and just heard the engine turning over very easily in my room HOOAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg I'm going trucking !!!! lol yes yes yes !!!! thx guys u rule lol I'm a dumbass !!!! from now on i prime it like that :)

LOL..........another happy customer.............hope you have lots of fun with that savage dude, I know I've had tons of fun with mine!

Hey Sunny how goes the Savage rampage????????????

did what u guys said but flooded the truck so i did what i did earlier and released the pressure and got a facefull of nitro lol then tryed again and my roto battery died , so after a quick charge i tryed again and THIS TIME started NP ! hooah just had to idle up the controller a lil after warming up a bit i turned the hsn up 1/8 increment and noticed a lil more power then tuned it again to bout 3 /12 turns from fact setting and ran it ,noticing alot more power this time WOW!! Low end was sick, esp as it warmed up then i was thinking of coming back in and asking how u do u know when it shifts ?? when on a straight i gave it full throtlle and the TRUCK SHIFTED !! and i almost creamed my drawers !!! OMG !!! I WAS LIKE "HOLD ON NELLI" were going for a ride ! the power was sick and i know that i can still tune the hsn in more but am gonna run a couple more tanks likes this gradually leaning it out just to be on the safe side, sry bout the long post but I'm VERY EXCITED !! LOL THX 4 THE HELP FELLAS !!
