i have a new savage xl, it will only start and run if i pour fuel right into the carb.as soon as the carb runs out of fuel it dies.my ?? is why wont it pull enough vacume to draw fuel into the carb? i check all the fuel lines but can't find out why i have no fuel pressure. its a new truck and my first savage.have a feeling it will also be my last!! i should have stuck with traxxs. any help would be nice or I'm going to swap it for something that will run!!
 
You probably have an air leak. Or it's not tuned correctly. Don't blame the truck or the brand just because you didn't do something right.
 
I must agree with the above statement. I've had multiple brands of MTs including Traxxas and HPI. If you're running nitro then you will have issues. That's what most of us like about them. We enjoy tinkering and fixing as much as playing with them. I suggest checking your carb settings including idle and check the tank to make sure it's sealing.
 
i pulled the line off the carb and primed it by closing the exhaust and gas comes out good.i opened the high and low speed adjustment alittle but havent tried turning the idle up yet. roto start batterys are chargeing and i didnt want it to rev to the moon if it takes out. anything else i should try?? sealing the tank consist of what?? i will try anything. its brand new and been in the closet cause of this. i went to the only 2 hobby shops in town and they was no help.said they dont know how to tune one but know how to sell them.didnt mean to be a smartass bout the brand but the traxxs i have just need some tuning on the high speed and they run like a ape.i going to hit some more chat rooms and see if their is some help out there for this savage.
 
Most people would agree, including me, that the savage is on of the best MT's out there. When I got mine it started up right away and after i broke it in, i didnt touch the HSN all summer! It sure holds a tune well and is also very reliable!

i got one of them running now.backed off on the idle and the low speed. its running,but out of tune but atleast it running.put it on charge and filled trans with batterys.will start on the other now. sorry bout brand bashing earlyer.it was my fault. i didnt take the time to check the steps.no fault to brand.
 
seal the motor up, dont use junk fuel. no matter what you have for a truck, I've got a losi and a hpi.. both have there flaws, and issues..both have days they dont want to run. its the nature of the sport. I've seen traxxas not start and blow fuel out the carb. its just the hobby.
