Anyone ever look at the shaft that runs threw the transmission? I've been having horrible problems with mine, smoked 2 clutches, 3 bells and i tightened up the spur gear, the bolt was finger loose. The tried to drive it on the road, it still sounded like it was slipping alot. so i took everything apart to see what was slipper where. New clutch, and bell look fine, inside the transmission I found black shavings from the only black gear in there. Not sure if something is broke, or ..? Any advice would be taken. As of right now I am just confused.

Do you have a pic? if you found shavings it means that there is something damaged.

If it sounds like it is slippeng, check everything.. the gears , the OWB and the slipper.. ALWAYS doublecheck everything.

I've already cleaned it all out, why would the main shaft that holds the spur gear get bent? I've never hit anything with it..

You never mentioned it was bent in your startpost.. It could get bent because the gear mesh was tight and maybe a little rock got caught between the gears? Anything can happen..

If it's bent replace it and everything that is damaged..

Did you get the XL used or brandnew? And how many tanks have you driven with it?

i got it brand new, put big joes 40 series and a cen pipe on it, and ran half gallon threw it. Love the truck. Ill get a new post and get it back together.. i use it in the sand and gravel so a small rock is a good chance. well. off to the hobby store to spend more money.. lol
