Hey guys, from some of the savage xl owners I would like to know what tuned pipe I can use for my truck?? I was looking at the ofna jp4 pipe. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Jim...

ooh! I get to recycle a post I just made! :D

With tuned pipes it helps to know where you want your powerband and what performance changes you want. The Jammin JP line is a good example to illustrate. The JP1 is tuned for bottom end snap & power not much on the mid-top end, whereas the JP2 gives good mid & top end without sacrificing too much bottom end. The JP4 is tuned for mid and top-end power. My JP3 is an all-around powerband with equal power through the entire range. Most any tuned pipe will increase your overall performance but getting a pipe tuned specifically for what you want makes a difference as the heavy power increases will depend on the where the pipe is tuned for.

Pipe

I was gonna use a top end mid range pipe .. But I was gonna run a steeper gear set up hopefully it will keep it up in the upper power range just like I would my street car...

I will have to say when I put a JP4 on my LRP .28 it opened that sucker up like it was no bodies business. I lost zero bottom end and the increase on mid and top.....it was like a new engine. Two thumbs up for the JP4 IMO.
