Savage XL with Spektrum DX3 set-up

I was curious if anyone was using the Spektrum DX3 Radio, receiver and servo set-up in their XL. I had read that some folks are switching the steering servo for the throttle servo and installing a high torque servo for the steering. If anyone is using the DX3, are the servo's that come with it any improvement over the stock servos. I have no problems with the steering servo to speak of, but I sure could use better braking/throttle response. Any help would be appreciated.

For the steering servo i plan on getting this baby http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUGE-255oz-...Accessories&hash=item4aaba5d100#ht_1848wt_952 this thing is sort of over kill with 255 0z but it will get the job done. I think for the XL it would actually be a good upgrade. But if you get that forsure get a battery pack because i imagine that thing uses power like crazy.

Overkill? I replaced mine with a Savox SC-1256TG. It has 277.7 oz- in. of torque and titanium gears.
