I want to get my savage X to the XL width. I'm trying to do this so it will handle better for the track. What exactly will I need to do this? I will probably order all the parts for that I can have a XL when I'm ready to do the complete conversion. I already ordered a good servo so this will go along with it to possibly make me more competitive.
 
You will need hpi wide axle part number 86249 that's it.
 
U will need the XL wide axels, XL super heavy duty dogbones and XL out drives or complete diffs. XL dogbones have the 11mm balls, X has 9mm ball ends so in order to use the wide axels u need to convert the drive line to XL. can't use 9mm ball ends of the X dogbones as they are to small and dont fit inside the XL's 11mm cup on the wide axel.

just did this conversion on all of my X trucks. you need the extended axles W/spacers, XL/flux shafts, XL/flux outdrive cups on the differentials. its almost cheaper to buy the differential on ebay than to buy the drive cups. i just didnt need anymore spare diffs
 
Thanks guys, for right now I think I'm going to order the wide axle part since that will probably help with the way it handles. Any clue on how much are the parts usually cost to do the conversion?
 
Everythings cheap on ebay, there's no point in buying these parts from ur local hobby shop when u can get them at a fraction of the price from ebay chop shops. These parts are in NEW condition just removed from BRAND NEW RTR's, it's definitely the best way to go!
