Savage xl where does the throttle return spring go?

I just purchased a new Savage XL and noticed that the return sping that is attached to the carb is not connected and just hanging off the linkage.. Where do i hook this up? If someone could take a picture it would really help me out.

Ok so I see the spring goes around the intake and back towards the high speed screw but what does it hook onto?
 
It hooks around the actual needle housing. The brass piece. Your manual should show you also.
 
How can you see it with all the dirt on that engine. That's a better place then where I have mine located.
