hi every one,
i wanted to change my spur gear and clutch bell for better top speed for my savage xl.what do you suggest??
i want to have a bit less acceleration and more top speed!!
i saw all the chart but they didint wrote my car or even the size of that engine

thanks

I am pretty sure the XL has a 52 tooth spur gear the easiest (cheapest) way to get some more top end would be to go with a slightly smaller spur gear such as a 49 or 47. I am not sure how much torque the XL has but I would keep a good eye on the engine temps until you get it dialed back in. Also they don't put the engine sizes on the chart because you can put almost anything in there so the chart would be pages long and just WAY too many variables such as fuel, pipes ect... But to get more speed smaller spur gear or larger bell gear on the engine.

if i change the spur gear to 47T does it make pressure to engine?
i mean is it bad for engine if i change spur gear to 47t?

It's not bad for the engine as long as your not geared too tall for conditions. The engine will tell you if it likes them or not.:) If it can't reach the upper rpm's, it's geared too tall. Make small changes. 1 tooth at a time on the clutch bell, no more than 3 at a time on the spur.

What about going with a shorter gear and the 3 speed trany?

In theory you should be able to get shorter gear for better crawling and not loss any of your top end right?
