Was at the LHS yesterday getting a quote on a Savage XL when they told me they hear it was being discontinued. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?
 
The reason I ask is I am about to pull the trigger on an XL but if they are coming out with something better soon I will wait.
 
try contacting hpi. Don't know if they would release that information but it is worth a shot. You also have the option of picking up the XL and then if a new one comes out, purchasing the parts to complete a conversion.
 
Just to clarify I was on the phone with HPI today checking on the servo backorder status... and I asked about the XL and the rumor of it being discontinued. The rep said that is not the case, but may be rumored due to the gas powered savage they are releasing. He said they are still working on it, but no release date as of yet.
 
Sweet thanks for hitting them up. I think I am going to hold off until the new stuff gets released. I got a Team Associated MGT8 in a trade to tide me over.

I hear ya , can't wait to see if it really has the power of a .28 , if this turn's out to be a winner I'll pick up 1 or 2 and see if I can mod some of my other trucks to fit the new engine :D
