Hey there,
I'm new to all this but I just got this savage and my remote will cut out connection after running for a few seconds. I went through the manual and tried to bind it again and now it won't even bind to my XL, HELP!? I really wanna get this running

Same problem here, I'm half tempted to throw the truck in a blender it's been so frustrating

It's been a serious inconvenience I'm going to take it to the hobby store and if they can help me

Swapped out batteries as I searched and that was a common issue apparently the brand new battery was already toast. Did the bind again and now it's running more reliably...

Just a heads up, I took it in and they said my receiver battery was totally toast because the battery the savage comes with isn't the most reliable. Cost 15$ to get that fixed and now it's running like a champ!

By fixed I mean I bought a new battery by the way

That was the exact same thing that happened to me, I may still call HPI and raise a little cane. It's BS that you spend that much for a truck that's going to fall apart in 30 days before it ever runs.

Definitely agree with you, it wasn't cheap. I don't enjoy the fact that i had to replace parts before I even got to drive it which is complete crap.

Hey guys HPI has a two year warranty for parts, as long as u have the original receipt for the truck u'll be in good shape. I just made a warranty claim last week and got a response from them yesterday.

Here's there contact info: [email protected]

Hit'em up and they'll take care of u.

<--Dummy that didn't keep the receipt the only person that knows the purchase date is the hobby store I purchased it from. Although I will say they mentioned the cheap charger included is what caused the battery to die because I didn't stay on top of how long it was attached. Could be right or wrong not sure

I'm sure the hobby shop can pull it up. U can still make a claim with HPI for future reference. Usually support will process ur order for the warranty replacement parts no question asked. I've made two claims already, one with proof of purchase and one with out. It really depends on who ur dealing with on the other side but generally there support team is really good when it comes to taking care of there customers.

Don't hesitate to contact them in the near future for any problems, they'll take care of u. HPI/Hobbico is an awesome company, they truly do stand behind there products.

that's nice to hear, the guy that finallly I got to help me tune it turned out to be one of their Demo drivers. He'd go to BMX and I guess Freestyle events and use the (he preferred the shorter Savage over the xl it was easier to stun do front and back flips etc) and his feedback was that the truck itself at the core is the toughest truck out there. They had a mechanic that followed them to all the shows as they broke things he went through and redesigned it. Well he was telling me that just broke the next part down the line. So somethings like the dog bones they ended up staying breakable while the diffs got upgraded so they would be tougher? Made sense and at least him telling me (he was pretty good at driving that truck even drifting it on hot pavement) that HPI went that far into improving the truck made me feel better about the purchase.
