savage x, vs savage x ss

the biggest is the ss is a kit. other then that, normaly the SS comes with a few small upgrades.

some of them look to be

bones tires,
steel cb and spur
upgrade trans case
tuned pipe
4.6k engine
aluminum diff cases
adjustable uppers


but the SS doesn't come with any electronics

that means radio, servos, battery, nothing...
 
I only heard about the SS 3 days after I bought the X. If I had known there was a kit I absolutely would have gotten it. The X has the 4.6, but I really would have preferred the aluminum dif cases and the other upgrades. I also wouldn't be stuck with another simple radio that I didn't need.
To me, the build is the greatest part of a new truck, plane or heli.
When it's ready to start, there's NOTHING about it that you don't already understand.
 
yeah, kits are the ish!..... so the one to get I'm guessing is the Xss, if i already have electronics right?
 
Absolutely. When you're done, you understand every single moving part in there, plus you've already got many important upgrades.
Go for it, and keep us posted on the build. Add pics if you can.
 
i might trade my lst for a savage ss + a hyper 7 pro. I'm gonna want to upgrade the savage ss to the latest one, i would guess I'm gonna need the x chassis, maybe trany case, bulk heads, I'm not too sure what I'm gonna need, but thats what my plans are. can anyone make a list of all the stuff I'm gonna have to swap?
 
Easiest way to upgrade any Pre-X savage is the conversion kit; 87250. They're rare as can be tho.
 
i looked that # up and all i saw was the x chassis, the radio box and a dual hd double slipper clutch. for $100. thats alot! too much imo id rather look around and get all that seperate. i seen the x chassis on fleabay for around 16 no more than 20.
 
That kit is more that just the TVP's, radio box and slipper; it includes the updated trans box, shock towers, diff cases/bulkheads, arms, and other misc parts. There was one about a week ago that closed out for $18 on eBay :censored: that I wish I could have known about....
