Hey guys so I started on the build tonight... I got the front end and rear end assembled...I would post pics but I don't have the internet at home and I'm posting this through my blackberry...fit and finish is great...its all snug...the directions are great, and the best part is is that every step has theparts for that step included in one bag so u won't move onto the next step till uve used everything...I measured the front turn buckles with the template that was in the booklet...hopefully ill be able to post some pics soon...the kit is great and I can't wait to start working on it more...thanks for ur interest...anybody got an idea for a color scheme for the shell?

waiting on the steering servo so i can continue the build...i don't wanna get ahead of myself on the instructions...o the suspense!!!!!

i'll get some pics up next week!!!! i promise!!! i'm going out of town for the weekend... i won't continue the build till i get pics up. anyone know how to post pics? i haven't the slightest idea...also i think i'm gonna paint the lid black and back it with silver, which hopefully will make it a dark grey color...am i right? later guys

^ Upload them to a hosting site like: http://www.imageshack.us/

Resize them to around 640x480, then when they are uploaded, copy the DIRECT LINK to the image and wrap it in
tags... use a / in the last tag to close the code.

hey guys, so i got to wrenchin on the kit again this after noon and finished it up. that's right....in 2 days!!! it surprised me too!!! anyways, here are the pictures. i know they aren't much, but here they are. all i can say is that HPI is awesome! i've owned 2 savages before but they were the RTR versions of the 4.6 x and the .21. fit and finish was great!!! the instructions were great! they give u all sorts of spare screws and parts...the most time consuming part was building the shocks. other than that, i never got stuck. the manual says that u need a set of calipers to do a few precise measurements for the tie rods, but i didn't use them. i just winged it. i'm gona have to do some fine tuning with the toe in and camber, but that's not going to be hard... enjoy guys...

yay the pics worked!!!!! the shell will be painted soon. once the friggin weather warms up!!!

thanks guys!!! and i think i'm gonna try a custom paint job. i'm not for sure yet on the colors...i know purple and yellow because i have some yellow springs coming...you'll know when i know ;)

i said purple beacuse of the purple parts already on the truck, not cuz i'm a flaming **** sexual...lol i just want to make it match....and i broke in the mill this evening...musta had to get the piston unstuck ten times. but that was probably because it was a little cold out. anyways, thanks for everyone's interest, and just to keep u guys interested i may leave the purple out....lol take care

Oh, we're just givin' ya some crap. If your starting that engine in the cold, heat that baby up with a hair dryer. I would crack the glow plug loose until it starts too. Until it's broken in. Tighten it up as soon as it's running. If you force an engine to turn over when it's cold, you run the risk of damaging the owb, or worse, breaking the con rod.

yea i know ur givin me a hard time guys. lol it's all good. ok i got her all broken in...after break in i started to tune it for performance. i almost got to the end of the first tank after break in until it started to rain so i put it up. i think i about got it dialed in though. she was poppin the wheels off the ground very easy like the 4.6 should. i'll break it out again when the weather is better and the ground is dry and get her tuned in. also, does anyone know what diff fluid the ss kit comes with stock? thanks guys!!!

Rotate the engine, by the flywheel, to the loosest spot as soon as you shut it off. This will make your engine last a lot longer. Keeps the sleeve from clamping down on the piston as it cools off.
