Savage X - Rotostart not turning the engine over

Hi guys,

I just saw the recent thread from the bloke with the 21 - may have the same issue.

When I stick the rotostart in and switch it on, the engine turns over once (I hear one 'phut' from the exhaust pipe ) but once only - hence I can't get it started.

My other savage, a 25, turns over and over until I can get it started (not going over 5 seconds, as per instructions).

Is this evidence that the one way bearing is shot, or is it worth a clean first? The car is second hand and I've never got around to starting it until today!

If you hear that 'phut' and then it just spins, the one way bearing needs to be cleaned. Slosh it around in alcohol and wipe the shaft as well.
