hello i have a savage x with a o.s 30 vg on it and here lately it has been goin through OWBs like crazy!
A buddy of mine suggested that it glue my OWB to my starting shaft of my motor and supposedly that will solve my problem.
What do you guys think about this ? will it work or just a stupid idea lol

Any input would be appreciated.Thanks

If you ask me that is a VERY bad idea. Your back plate will end up melting since the start plate will be spinning the same speed as the engine. It you have a pull start it will not even run at all.

Most likely it's not the OWB going bad. Is it getting really oily from running? If yes,it could be you're running too rich or the rear seal/bearing is getting bad. Also the shaft could be worn. Only takes about .001" wear on the shaft to give you troubles.

DO NOT GLUE THE BEARING!!!

VERY BAD IDEA!! Do not glue the owb to the starter shaft! Like Joey said you will melt your back plate and if your using a pull start your screwed cause it will not pull over at all.
