Thanks mann, now to try breaking this engine in, haha

I'm currently using the HPI alu. pipe mount. Works great. Sucks though because it requires to bend the wire for the pipe I'm using (Ofna 086). I made my own wire though with an unused hangar I found. Works great.

I solid mounted my pipe
If i went to use wire it would continually move and hit the tank and started to melt through the tank

Ill post pics later

can you please link me to your manifold? or is it custom?

You need spring steel for an exhaust pipe hanger. Solid mounting an exhaust sends the vibrations through the chassis and will cause excess fuel foaming and screws to loosen or break.
The coat hanger idea is fine for a quick fix, but since it is not spring steel it will just keep bending down everytime you jump the truck.

Yeah, the hangar is temporary for me. I am thinking of using tungsten or bending the wire that came with it, but I don't have the proper tools.

For years I've been using some wire that my hobby shop calls piano wire and it's tough as nails. Never had a problem with vibration issues / foaming.
Usually 3/32 wire works although I've also used 1/16 for smaller trucks like the Revo.
K&S Engineering 3/32 wire - stock number 506

You can bend it using a couple of pliers/vice grips etc.
Be sure to ground off the ends as they are sharp.

Get rid of that header....get one with a nice flowing bend. that bend in there gives you no favors. When i changed to a smoother bend header i picked up power high in the revs. Not some power, but power you can notice. Lost some bottom end tough.

Well this isn't going to be a racing Savage anyways, so I'll keep the one I have on it now. I'm gonna be needing that bottom end.

Well, it also dropped my temps by as much as 20 degrees. Not trying to be a peepee, but i had nothing but trouble with the same shape header. Axial ran at 280 with the header on, i had to richen the hell out of it to get it down to the 250 range. After the retune and the header swap, it would run at 210-220 range so i had to retune again to get it into the 250-260 range where she would like to run, and it would run consistently. Got more power, more run time from 1 tank with just a simple header change.

Are you sure it wasn't a different factor? Running that hot seems like maybe an air leak was coming from the exhaust gasket.

Positive it was not an air leak. I have learned to tear down all my engines, clean them, then seal them before the 1st drop of nitro hits it. It was the header.

BTW, awesome looking savage. Looks like you are going to mid tank it. Where did you get that plate that the steering servo mounts to??
