Savage X Brushless Conversion

What are your thoughts about doing a brushless conversion on the cheap? Is it worth it? Can you do it with an EZRUN ESC and motor from Hobbyking or is that not recommended?! If so, what size motor and ESC would be good? Was looking at the HPI conversion kit.
Is it a pain to convert back because was just looking at it for winter since i do love nitro? Any feedback is appreciated, thanks!
