I was just wondering where the best place to buy a hpi savage x 5.9 online? Or would it be worth my while to drive a hour to two to a hobby shop that sells them? Was just also wondering if they are as durable as they advertise? Was also wondering how durable the motor is on it & if it really has that much power?

I currently have a slayer 3.3 hate the low ground clearance on it. Wanting a bigger truck. I got this one used and I've put enough money in it to where I could of bought a new one. Just waiting on servo gears for it but it was running great finally last time I had it out just couldnt stear lol kinda major part of the whole driving thing.

Do you mean a savage x or the savage xl? The XL comes with the 5.9 and the x comes with the 4.6. I've got the 5.9 and it's been a great truck. The 5.9 does have a bad rep but I've only had one problem and after it's been fixed it's been really reliable. It does take hard landings and cartweels pretty good but I've never taken my truck to the limit. For online shopping tower seems to be the best bet and that's where I got mine. I ended up not paying sales tax which was a savings of around 50 bucks and then I got a coupon for like 50 off on top of that. Then HPI had that rebate last year which saved me another 50. So I saved around 150 or so off of my truck in the long run. If the tower coupons are being on the cheap side, I would call and ask for a coupon and usually they give you one. The XL does come with more hop ups already installed compared to the X.

was talking about the xl. That's good to know thanks any more info would be appreciated.

I have an XL as well. Love it! big bad ass truck and yes very durable. I drove an hour to the hobbie shop because I wanted to get it that day. I didn't want to wait the 5 to 7 days it would have took to ship it! Lol
