Damn that thing looks awesome...makes me miss my old Savage X. The dual breaks are good to have. IMO the stock savage breaks blow. The aluminum diff cups are good to have as well, but they might have came in some of the newer old RTRs not sure.

Definately pick up some dual disk brakes; the only ouch is you'll have to yank out the trans to install them. The upside; the truck will have enough braking power to flip over forwards. With ease.

Taking out the transmission isn't too hard with the Savage X I don't think. Even if it is, if you plan to get some dual brakes get the steel ones and you won't be sorry. Those things are very good, you have to have brake control our your truck will flip forward. If you slam the breaks too many times your diff will start to wear, they are almost too strong.

i ate through the stock and dual disc brakes after only a few tanks on each. Grabbed the CNR dual disc kit and haven't looked back.

The dual disk brake set up is a nice upgrade that will perform well and last long if they are adjusted correctly. You might want to look into the aluminum diffs at least on the rear.

You ate through the dual steel rotors? How did you do that?

i burned through those dinky little pads in no time. one day of bashing and i was back to metal on metal.

You must have had some brake drag, cause I beat on mine for over a gallon and I had plenty of pad left. Tons of braking power the whole time...

Thats a sick truck! Makes me rember how much traxxas is lagin.

my truck is fairly heavy as well so i know that makes a difference. I wore down the cnr's a little running 6.5" tires but i am back to dirt bonz now.

have you seen the cnr's? there is no comparison

Not compared to a T-Maxx...

The Savage is dated I will admit, but with the updates with the X version and the extra power it still remains a great truck. (I own a Revo btw)

And no I haven't seen the CNRs flm. I'm sure there are bigger and better brakes out there than the HPIs, but one day of bashing and they are gone? That sounds like something is wrong...
