No its not!! The 5.9 engine is a great motor if you know how to tune. I have had both and I will take the 5.9 motor over the 4.6 ANY day if I had to choose. There is no replacement for displacement. Now as far as the truck goes, it is personal preference. I have both and I prefer the X over the XL.
