so far everytime that i have taken the savage out, i have come back with less than delightful thoughts...this time, i can't get it to shift into second, and then all of a sudden it doesn't have enough power to move itself, i think the tranny may be slipping really bad or somethin, becuase the motor is putting out high rpms but not moving, and the max i have been able to get the savage up to is around 15 maybe 20 mph, i just think the tranny may be weak...i shoulda just bought a brand new one, haha, but you gotta learn somehow...I'm still addicted

When the motor puts out the high RPMs, does the spur gear turn? If it does, tighten down the slipper clutch.
If it doesn't, open the clutch bell and scuff up the shoes and the inside of the bell.
If it's none of the above, get back to us.

it does, i was messin with it just a minute ago, and i think that there may be a problem with the slipper clutch, you know the red pad thats on the side closer to the transmission...well that has a chunk missing out of it...and a bunch of red dust all over, i know that isnt supposed to be broken, but now the truck doesn't turn the rear wheels at all...

Take the slipper clutch and spur apart. see what it needs, and adjust it properly when you replace it. Then check again and let us know how it goes.
