my friend just bought a savage today, and it won't start. how does the glow plug warmer work, and when the starter is in, you can't hear the piston moving.

Sounds to me like a one way bearing problem A lot of people have stripped their one ways using a roto start. It would help a little more if you would elaborate, and give us more info.

it is new, it itn't a pull start, and he let the glow plug charge for over night, and all his batteries are brand new. there is gas going to the carb, but when he has the glow plug in and tries to start it, nothing happens, there isn't any gas. or exhaust comming out.

Does it sound like its trying to start...or does the roto start just spin freely?
Did You check the plug?

are u priming it properly?(covering the stinger while turning the engine over with the rototstart?) also sounds like there may be oil in the one way causing it to slip perhaps.

thanks you guys, he got it running, now it is time to tear up the trails.
