So I just rebuilt the entire truck after crashing into a part bench and it catching on fire.. I bough the aluminum three piece clutch shoes, a vented clutch bell, new throttle servo mount, just can't figure out the problem, the wheels spin when its on a block but not when it is sitting on the ground or under a load nothin.

You need to find out where the power ends.
Does the CB spin when you hold the spur? If not, it's in the clutch.
Does the spur spin when the wheels are on the ground?
Check slipper tension. If the slipper and spur spins, make sure the trans shaft spins, then check the drive shaft pins.

Very direct ill look into it if the shoes r slipping like i suspect what's the next step, are aluminum shoes good? like it tries to go, the wheels r turning when its off the ground but it wont move but like an inch or two on the ground and not at all on the grass

Check and make sure that your shoes don't have a glaze on them. If they do, take something abrasive (sandpaper) and scuff them to remove the shine. Disregard my statement if you're using brand new shoes and bell.

They were shiny when I installed them and way easier then I thoughts with out the shoe tool very simple

I've never used aluminum shoes, but I'm sure one of the Savage guys have. Hang in there, they will help you. Are you sure you installed the shoes correctly, most people seem to have some issues without the tool?

I reversed mine once in my D8T and in my Hyper 7 and both times had the exact same symptoms. I guess the gear box design in the Savage allows for it then?

Interesting...I was not aware of that about the Savage, but not surprised as it's a mirror.

Sure you can install the savage diffs the wrong way. I ended up with a savage with the front/rear tires fighting each other.

Um, the savage with the red and black body. I think it's still a savage x but the motor was the .25 with the grey crank case and purple heat sink. It had 8skinny shocks. Not sure of the product number the box blew away.

I never took the diffs apart replaced the trans the gas tank throttle mount clutch and bell and converted back to a plastic spur and painted the whole truck but the spur only turn when I pull the truck backwards I think thats normal though cause the clutch is not engaged correct?

Ah...you said you rebuilt entire truck so thought that meant everything - diffs included. :-)

Sounds to me like your slipper clutch, unless your shoes came off. . There is slippage and then there is not working.

Do the wheels spin on the ground when trying to move or do they lock up?

Also does your flywheel spin freely by hand?

I've run both alum and nylon in Savage. "Good" is subjective, meaning you have to think in terms of what is your purpose in using alum and did you get what you want from it.
