I have a savage with a 24/7 on it. I had to replace the backplate and the plate that holds the backplate of the rotostarter on. Forgive me for not knowing the name of it. I installed the plate and backplate and the rotostarter turned the engine a few times. After that it wouldnt spin the engine anymore just the backplate starter would spin and the rotostarter. Took it all apart and put it all back together and same thing happned. Does this sound like a one way issue? Were is it located in the engine if it is. Thanks for your help.

well you probably have a flooded engine, if not make sure your roto start battery is charged, and the oneway bearing is the big bearing that goes in the roto start and it goes on to the starting shaft that sticks out of the backplate, make sure that it is on correctly the writing on the bearing sould face the engine.

after further examining i find that the starter shaft seems to be sliding out and not making contact on the inside of the rotostart that seems like an odd problem. It doesn't seem it can move that far. I think the one way is fine just the shaft is coming out. Can someone tell me how to correct this. THanks tarant for your help
