Runnin with the Big-Doggs! Monster Jumps and HondaCR450F. What a brute, but the Savage was KING. Now I'm pickin up the pieces, as follows;

Broken (Worn-out) Diff. in the front. Jumping anf burnin rubber at the local MC track. Hed to come home in two wheel drive. (I've got to get a digital camera for the action!

Knocked a pin off the HD Dogbone front drive shaft. II Have a spare. (thats the most amazing thing)

Totally cracked my stock Savage body in two pieces. I'm working on the '63 Bronco. (got it before the Rubicon came out, DOE!)

The funn continues!!

Sounds like a fun time. Welcome to the great hobby of smashing RCs.

If it is the HPI Bronco It will crack to. HPI body are way to thin. I cracked their stock body the first time I ran it after brake-in. If you feel a HPI body and a Pro-line body you can tell the differance. I have the Pro-line CJ-8 body it has held up well. I also flipped the back body post around to give the body more support it the back end.

Dont be sure you have worn out the front diff, it could be that you didnt threadlock all your wheels and the hex part has stripped. If you are running the stock wheels I urge you to check them right now because this has happened to about 50% of the Savage owners.

Well you got me thinkin (very dangerous). Stripped the "Monster" down (passed the skivies) and saw spider gears that looked just like some I saw on this web site. The spiders are dished out passed the point of any contact with the beveled gears. No brakage though, just worn out. I ordered 4 gear sets from southeastrc.com ($5.75 per set) so I can add two spiders to each diff. I will have to mate the spider shafts (file them both half way in the middle, with a little notch) so they can cross each other. (+) This should add the beef, AYE! I also ordered new housings, cause these looked pretty rough, all notched out. I will try and take a pick of this setup (still in need of camera) in case it works well.

Thanx for the inputs

Hey there dude, I'm not picking a fight here, but you can't make that claim without pics or a promise of pics. Bring your camera every time you bash and don't be afraid to use it either.

El pirata, I'm hopin the won-ton abashin is'nt so devestating to the hardware in the future. (more experience required for Da-Big-Air). I want to get you some pix of the track we run, (It's a wild affair known around here as the "Insane Asylym". (It's an abandon mental "health" facility used in the 50's, (WIERD PLACE, shackles and all), on a bunch of land thats dirt track heaven. I't is an "Insane Asylm)). Anyway's as I have said, The pix are coming, camera is needed.
Hasta
