HI,
First of all this forum kix ass!
Now... in about two weeks I’ll go to snow and was thinking of taking my Savage XL too. What do you think of the idea and would you advise it at all, is it risky, could I damage the engine or something. If ok do I have to buy a special glow-plug?
What about rain? Any weather advice is welcome.

Please throw at me any advice that you might find useful.

thanx heaps!

Snow? Where are you going? In July, any snow around here is only in high altitudes, and there's not enough good air to make them run very well.
Other than altitude, you'll need a colder plug and you'll have to richen the engine to compensate for less density in the air.

Try to keep the servos dry. You can put them in balloons or dip them in plasti-dip. For tuning you will probably have to richen your tune quite a bit.

Humid = Lean
Dry = Rich.

:hehe:There's no stopping them now, someone said the V word. To keep the engine from running too cool what some people have done is to wrap alloy foil around the cooling head so very little air is passing over the cooling fins and it retains some of its heat, running too cool is bad for the engine just as running too hot is. As for rain / snow melt a little shouldn't hurt anything but if you get any of the electronics really wet she could be buggered.

It wont take much water at all to destroy the receiver, so make sure it's in a watertight balloon, or even better, dip it in plasti-dip. For the servos, I have seen that using liquid electrical tape around the seams in the case works really good, with an O-Ring at the servo horn to keep water from entering there.
