I have the savage ss with 85 oz.-in. of torque with a trans time of .15 second. my savage turns really slowly and i want to know why... i know installed it right and i am running with a hump back. so why is it so slow if u have any tips or ideas on why please tell me.... plus i know my batterys are good. so that is not the problem please help me!
Doug

what kind of radio are you using? if it has some kind of servo speed adjustment that could be the problem. are you using a 5 cell pack? if not that would help.

yes i am useing a 5 cell battery pack. also i am useing a mx 3 by airtronics. i dont think it has that speed thing. also is there a way to make my breaks stop faster it stoped within 10 ft. but i want it to stop it with in 1ft. i bought the hot bodies vented break and a metal hub but i dont think i am putting it on there right or something

Not sure on the steering other than checking to see if you tightened something on the linkage too tight. Seen that before and done that before.

All parts should move freely.

As for braking within one foot, well, not saying its not possible, but your drivetrain may hate you for it and end up busting to pieces.

lol so i guess stoping with in a foot is bad. Well since i have down time i will rebuild it again thanks for the tips!!!

It is possible to get the HB disk and the metal hex hub to completely lock up on pavement (been there, do it al the time). And it is tough on the drivetrain. What will happen if you do it alot (during a run) will be brake fade. This is when the disk heats up and looses effectiveness, though it will come back when it cools.

The slow steering issue. Is this when you're friving on hardtop, holding it off the ground, or driving on dirt? On the gas or off? All of these things will affect the steering response. On-road, on gas, slow steer. Off road, off gas, fast steer. all other combos are in the middle. This is assuming that you're not in a bind and the links move freely (like Chris said).

Whitt...

ok i did what you guys said.... not really wanting to i took my ss apart... and i found that the stearing arm thing.... i think was tight so i backed off the screw i will tell you if it works.
Thanks
Doug

THanks Chris and error You saved me about 35 to 50 $$ for now... i went to my lhs about this problem he said to get a new servo. i will get one in the future but not now. i want to be able to turn my wheels when i am at a dead stop lol
THanks again!
Doug

When you get around to replacing the steering servo, get something with at least 120 oz.-in torque. 85 is barely adequate. I have a 180 oz.-in steering servo and it struggles to turn the wheels at a dead stop(I run 40 series tires). Also take a look at the servosaver. The stock one is crapola. Replace it with a Kimbrough 124 servosaver. This one is a lot tighter.

Thanks guys, I will think about it. it sounds like it sould work better but i did up grade my servo saver. it is by ofna and it is purple to keep my theme as " the purple t-maxx eater" lol j/p but when i get home i will post and tell you what it is. Right now i am at school!! lol
