Hey everybody. I am a newbie to the hobby and inherited an HPI savage 25. it has the INTT7062PURPLE suspension set on it. I was wondering if it were possible to put a shorter shaft in this shock and which the part number would be for a 2.7 or 2.19 inch shock shaft. I really hate how tall the truck sits with these shocks on it. I know that integy makes shorter shafts, but the site does not provide any information, nor does rcplanet. I was wondering if anybody knew if i could buy shorter shocks than the ones that come in the INTT7062PURPLE and if they would work. Thank you!

What I have done in the past to lower my savage is to
disassemble the shocks and add a length of fuel line over
the shock shaft inside the shock body. The length of fuel
line is up to how low you want to lower your truck.

If you want it like a race height i think the shocks these guys chose for their build was good. http://www.hpieurope.com/walk.php?lang=en&id=20 check out the last photo... really you shouldn't go to much lower, if the arms are low to the point where they are facing upward its too much. You dont really want them more than just level like in the last photo.

First make sure you don't have any pre-load clips on the shocks that would stiffen the springs. Removing them would lower the ride. You can also add softer springs, but anything done to the shocks would change the performance. It's up to you to find the settings you like for the terrain you run in.

Avoid Integy.
