Hey I know there have been threads started on this but i was wondering about the price i looked on tower and noticed they had it at $440 i thought this was kinda a bit high so i called me lhs and they said they were selling it for $380 and i was amazed cuz they usually have jacked up prices. Just wanting to see waht yall think and also i looked on the hpi site and didnt see any news of the new kit, please share info on this item. Thanks

Just saw that today.. Is right pricey isn't it?
What about the "composite" carb? Anyone really trust that? I read that was a problem with the tmaxx. That was one of the things that pushed me over to Savage.

I totally agree. I switched to an acnc gaint head (a little overkill, but hey it worked) and holy crap. No more tuning issues no more overheating. Way more forgiving with a bigger cooling head. That was, until i sold it for more power... lol

I heard that composite carbs are better, because they allows the fuel to enter the motor instead of being evorpated before it leaves the carb... what I am trying to say is that, I heard they run cooler

I tune a LOT of engines at the local track. The one that gets tuned the most is the Traxxas 2.5. Any time someone shows up with one of these, I tell them I'll get them running for the day, but I won't tune it again till they change the head.
I have a 2.5, also, but added the ACNCM cooling head long time ago. As soon as I got it tweaked for that head, it's been a pleasure to start and run.
Likewise for all the other 2.5s there. The composite carb is not the problem.
Ever wonder why the Revo isn't a problem? It has a better cooling head.

Yeah, the composite carb is a good thing. The plastic can keep more heat out of the carb meaning all fuel goes into the engine. This means cooler temps and better milage. I never had a problem on my S-25, but I hope to get a Savage SS 4.6 soon.

Yeah i didnt like the composit carb cuz the threads in the body would strip really easily i had to only rebuild it once though. Nothing against or for composit doesn't really matter to me i just have to not tighten the skrews in to tight and make sure they arent threading it wrong. But any way has any one heard about the prices. any one asked their hobby shops or anything?

It looks like its going to be a badass truck! Just not a race truck, have fun with it guys.

yeah i agree great basher, can't wait the lhs says it should be there by mid-late feb. so it sounds good

As long as were on the topic of cooling heads, anyone got a link to a good s-25 head?

ok i see how it is just derail my thread and leave me like that. O well it doesn't matter i dont think ill find out theh info I'm asking until it comes out in stores.

Prices are starting to pop up. Ruch RC is taking preorders right now for $435. I think Tower has it listed at $440. Haven't seen it anywhere else. Looks like Rush RC has a good deal at this point.

well My lhs said 380$ so ill have to see, i was surprised when i called cuz usually their prices are outa the roof.

440$ Seems like a lot, but Buggy prices seem crazy to me. My MP7.5 kit, no engine, no electronics, just chassis cost me 350$, but this savage coems with a decent .28, with tuned pipe as well. Think of how much more materials and stuff go into a Monster Truck to make them as durable as they are. I think that compared to buggies the price isn't that bad. Don't get me wrong, I think almost all R/Cs are overpriced but if compare what you get with that savage compared to what you get with a buggy kit its not too bad a deal.

I think that mt's are price so much less because they don't have the following that buggies have. Prices depend on demand, and there isn't as much demand for mt's as there is for buggies.

i agree some buggy prices are outragious but i got a hb lightning .21 for 289$ i mean why spend lots of money on a buggy when you can get one for 289$ its awesome too idk maybe i need to see some other ones but i think its awesome. I mean 600$ or 289$ maybe I'm just a cheep ass. It works great for me so, i have to say i would never spend more than 500$ for a rc vhicle unless it was like the savage, very durable. Like the LST for instance id never get it just cuz of the crazy price.

Well Ill be doing a build thread on the savage 4.6 I have my order in at

www.RCRUSH.COM

so Ill let every one no how it goes and just what kind of beating it can take

OH and a big OL thanks to bruce.
right now he has the best deal going on the new savage

I am doing a deal with Bruce as well, to trade in my old hopped up savage for the new one.. I would do a build thread but it looks like ZANDOR is all over it. :)
