I just replaced pull start with roto start for Savage ss 4.6. It just slipped and could not turn the engine, not enough to fire up. I had pull start slipped before, but I took it out and cleaned the inside of the back plate from oil then assembled it and it worked. Then I replaced it with roto start, it just slipped right after the assembling. I don't think I miss any steps in assembling. What possibly cuases the slip and how to fix it. Well, I put some grease in roto start gears according in the manual. Could this cause the slip?? Thanks!!!!

If your one way was slipping before with the pull start you should have replaced it when you installed the Rotostart...

Yank it all back down and inspect your owb...

a roto will kill a owb.. or you put it on backwards.. keep a few one ways handy, and make sure your backplate is tight(may want to go ahead and seal it with rtv), and the exhaust gasket is good so no exess oil gets in the roto plate..
