I just got a savage ss 4.6 and put 10 hours to it. I over tight an upper screw that holds the break plate. Now I don't have a break in my savage. What can I do to fix this? Thank you!

Did you snap the screw head off, or just stripped it out? Obviously, you will need to get that screw out. I would remove the tranny from the truck, and make it as easy as possible for yourself..

I just stripped it out! Lost the upper screw and break pistion pin while break-in. I can get these parts from here, but how to secure the screw in place. Thinking of using super glue or something to hold it. Have you had stripped screww and what works for you? Thank you very much.

Hmm....that's tricky. You could drip a little super glue into the hole and then thread the screw in. I think that would hold ok. If you want to be 100% certain, you'd probably have to replace the tranny case. I'd try the super glue after you get the right replacement screw.

I use a silicone sealant (glue) and it holds the screws in nice and tight, but they come out just as easy when you need them to.

Thanks, I was reluctant to use the super glue. The silicone sealant seems to be a bit more gentle on the parts, I'll try this. Thanks.
