I bet you'll be surpised how far off you are... those 7 inch tires are heavy. Rotational mass is one of the biggest speed killers.
 
True they may be a bit heavy however, they also offer a hell of a roll out. More ground covered per tire revolution. I guess I am going to just have to find me a friendly police officer. Damn why is Alpine so far away?
 
Thats why it's handy for me to do speed checks. My brother is a cop who has a take home car so I just roll over to his place and he busts out the radar gun. :D
 
The only Savage capable of propelling itself to above 55, respectfully, is the Flux. Me thinks you nitro guys should think about it. :hehe: :p:

I had a neighbor that was a cop the last place I lived...he would hook me up with the radar gun when I needed it. No I just have to work on bribery. And yeah I would love to have a Flux but man that is some cash to drop then fat sick Lipos.....you are now looking at a grand easy. I think I would just get a 5t or 5b SS for that much.
 
I know of two confirmed speed attempts. One Savage hit 61.7.... I THINK!.....Kevin Hetmanski's on rc caraction radared his Savage speed attempt with an Axial .28rr on NOS with a BUKU pipe at 55 or 57 mph. I 've been searching trying to find the proof of these and it's ticking me off.
I know the MT speed record is or was held by the first truck, it was runnning a TNT Mods Nitrostar K4.6, C.F. LCG chassis.....lots of mods.
Anybody can find these please post them. I know I read about them in some rc magazine's and online.
 
Ok I am going to "TRY" to find a radar gun and get this on video. I may be wrong on the speed but it looks damn fast getting across a parking lot or grass field. But I will agree that speed can be deceiving. When I first got in to RC 25mph looked damn fast. So no promises....not a faart story with my dog ate my camera or filming at night. So Scrogg/Jason....we will see what the 'ol Savvy is capable of. Now I need to go to Dunkin Doughnuts and bribe me a police officer....lol
 
Don't bother cops while they are having their doughnuts.....things could get ugly!
You know those big white portable radars that say " your speed is..." SO many times I was tempted to pull over and take a r/c out of the trunk and see what it could really do.
Traffic was the only thing stopping me. I have an officer in my neighborhood, sounds like it is time to get to know him! I'd like to know what my Jammin is capable of.
 
I know my CRT Jammin looked crazy fast when I got a run-a-way....was not a good day. Receiver crapped out on me and....bye bye! Only cost an A-arm so all good. Yup have to find me a friend....lol
 
All this speed talk is making me want to clock mine. My xl with the picco p3 is almost as fast as my pede vxl with a 9-cell in it moderatly geared up. Its gotta do 50, i have the goliath tires on it too.
