Hey,

I've had the rear plate off my S-25 engine, and went to put it back on today...now I think I have something missing. is there a pin that connects the conrod to the rear plate so that the rotostart will work? does anyone have a diagram for that? At the moment its just slipping as nothing connects the 2 together.

Hope that all makes sense.

Thanks
Gus.

It seems like your missing the little pin that connects the crank to your roto plate. Look around where you took it apart. Its iddy bitty. You might stumble across it.

I just did that to check the internals of my S-25 and I did the same thing. The little pin that goes on the crank is what fell off. If you don't find it HPI has a rebuild kit.

thanks guys, unfortunatly I took it apart a while ago so I'm guess that part is long gone :(

There is a spring that goes in there.

Are you serious...a spring too?..where??? its been a while since I have seen the internals of that mill.

Curiosity got me....yup..sure enough....there should be a spring there too. let me look and see if i can find one of those for ya also.

If you have a grinder of a dremel a 2.5mm screw fits nicely in that hole. Just make sure you have the spring inside there.

If you can't find the spring, run a search on this forum. Someone took the spring from a Bic lighter and cut it just a bit and it worked like a charm. If I find the thread, I'll post it, but it wasn't too long ago.

Thanks, but the cost of sending it over to NZ would be to much, I was just getting the engine ready to sell as its surplus to my needs and only done 4 litres I thought someone else might want it. Still have the spring (not sure how I have that but not the pin!!!)

Thanks for all the help guys, I'll just knock the price down a bit for it.

Dont worry about that. If you need the pin...its yours. Its right here on the shelf with your name on it. LMK

thanks for the offer, its really great of you to help out. I might give the cutting down a linkage first as i have something that is the right girth but to long to fit, if that doesn't work i'll pm you.

thanks again.
