I would like to find out if a Savage roto-start (or the hotbodies jump start) could be adapted for use on a ofna picco .26(without just buying it and trying it of course). If anybody knows if it would fit or could tell me the dimensions for the bolt pattern and size of the "nut" the starter grabs that would be great. The ad for the roto-start says it would fit any force .21-.25 & is for the stock savage motor.(hot bodies has the same exact starter it says it will fit the stock savage & the hot bodies .21 so I'm assuming it would start force .21-.25 as well) Anybody's help/thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. I'm trying to get rid of the ps on my .21 tmaxx the only other way I've seen to start it would be w/ a different chassis so I could use a starter box and I dont want to do that. Thanks

Yes it works - just pickup a 12x5 bearring to go with it. Thats the ONLY additional part you will need. The bearring is used to take up the space between the backplate of the rotostart and the one-way-bearring/shaft. Without it, the shaft will back out and not engage.

Bearring is about 2 bucks and OFNA did in fact put out and official 'adapter/insert' that does the same thing. Chances are, it costs more than 2 bucks!

So yes, it works, with one more part :bling:

Thanks for the help. So the bearing should ride on the oneway shaft right? Will the shaft being 5mm out of the oneway effect anything? About how much of an angle do you think the starter shaft can operate at? I think there is enough clearance (the shock tower is sorta in the way) but it is not a perfectly straight on shot.

You wont want the shaft to come out at all. The ebarring goes on the other side. Between the bearring/shaft and the backplate of the roto-start itself. The angle is pretty good for the starter shaft. I dont want to say 45 degrees, but close.

I just got done adding the roto-start to my Picco and after getting everything bolted up and loctited, I realized I forgot to put the spring back in:doh: . If I leave the spring out, is it going to effect anything?

There is no nipple for the spring to be held in place once you put the RotoStart in. Skip the spring and get a bearring. The one-way and shaft will back out sooner or later if you dont.

OK cool, I added a spacer already so I guess I'm ready to fire this thing up:w00t: Thanx Chris:thumbup:
