I got into rc. Unfortunately i pulled a cat walk and the truck flipped over. After it stalled and now the when i accelerate the truck does not move. It revs up then stalls. I am a newbie to rc and i need help. Any help would be great. I also notice the engine strocket turns yet the spur gear turns very little.

The truck is a 4.6 savage bone stock.

Your spur gear is probably stripped, or melted. To change this, take the plastic roll bar off and take the 4 screws out that are on top of the transmission. Nice thing is that the spur gears are only 3 bucks.

Replace the M4 locknut while you are at it. They are notorious for slowly backing off while you drive.

The gear looks abit worn but it looks like if may be fine. Not to sure its a tad melted. its worn in one area.

Are you talking about the spur gear striped in inside the shaft instead of the outsite where it meshed on the engine?? sorry iam a newibe,,,

thanks you guys are ultra helpful

No worries, Rc isn't easy to swallow. Your spur gear is the black gear that is meshed against your clutchbell, where your engine's crankshaft comes out. Even 1 tooth missing on a spurgear, it should be replaced.

is this what it looks like?

Yes, it can be there. It will melt the center completely. I actually had a spur fall off with the hub and slipper pad still attached. I had a monster engine plus the spur was 3 or 4 gallons old.

That's just about the oddest thing that I've heard happen to a spur.:hehe:

I had a picture of it on another computer but it crashed and I lost it. We still have the computer, just too cheap to get the data taken out of it.
Modded STS .30...pics of the beast. I never lost a drag race, not even to a Picco .28

Nothing to radical but it was a screamer, revved very close to 40K!

Ya i have some teeth that look like that. The weird part is i only have like 6 fuel tanks through the car. Would you guys recommend steel spur gear or just another plastic one. Also what about teeth count. Oh Thanks for being patient with me fellows. Your very welcoming.

All the teeth need to be there. it is suppose to have 47 teeth if you are running the stock gearing. Get the plastic ones, the metal ones just break different things.

spur gear

I see. Another question how many rpm does the roto start 2 provide to start the engine. will 18 volt drill turn the engine over aswell.

this is what the spur gear looks like. i have better pics as well.
