Is the savage a one speed. If so is teh gear ratio good enough to alow for decent top speed and enough bottom end as well?

Do they make a 2speed conversion?

It's a two speed. The two speed is in the transmission case.

Dunno about the 25 rtr but the 21bb rtr has a top speed somewhere around 25-30mph. So no it doesn't have a high top speed. The 21bb has no torque so you're not really gonna see a good bottom end either.

I have gotten the savage 21bb up to 40mph but was using road rage tires... I would say get the Savage RTR 25 cause it already comes with a 3 shoe clutch system and better parts than the 21 or get a used savage from ebay and build it up.. thats what i did.. i figure since I am going to hop it up anyways why buy a brand new one.. I got a used one for like $200

or if you know how to build a savage or get a hold of the list on hpi site.. you can actually build one with 1/2 hop ups and 1/2 stock plastic and save money....

My .21bb seems to have a very good bottom end. I've been very impressed with it. Of course a few modifications to the engine does help out, but I just don't see me buying a new engine just yet. It takes off much faster than my brother's T-Maxx if I can keep the front wheels down, but the T-Maxx just zooms by after it picks up speed.

I've seen a good 21bb school an hyper8
then again this guy makes a living tuning engines and wat not
