will sand hurt the savage 25?
i lve near the beach so i was just wonderin. is there a way to sandproof your truck?

Are you running with the stock spur gear?? If so the sand may get in between the spur gear and CB, if a big enough piece gets in there you run the chance of breaking off teeth and thus stripping the gear so be carefull if you are running the stock plastic spur gear, if you are running a metal spur gear by all means sand bash to your hearts content!! Also be extra sure the air filter is secure to the carb, use a zip tie to keep it on the carb you don't want it falling off in a sandy environment, very bad news if that were to happen, after you are done bashing in the sand take the time to really clean up your ride, use an air compressor if you have one handy, be sure to clean extra good around the air filter where it goes on the carb and blow out any sand that maybe down in the heat sink around the glow plug, don't forget those saftey goggles, flying sand in the eyes is nasty! Otherwise have lots of fun in the sand, post some pics if you can get some!

As long as he gives it a good cleaning after he's done bashing, I don't see any problem weather it be an ocean front beach or the beach at the local lake...........you should really take the time to clean your ride after every bash!!

By the way...............you're welcome savagebob, hope you have a great time on the beach, let us know how it went!

This doesn't answer your question but you might think about gettin' some Maxx Paddles. Friends of mine go quad ridin' at the Oregon dunes and I go along every once in a while for the campin' and good times.

I got my own toy to bring next time. Can't wait to try it on the sand.

When I was bashing with SkyMaxx and EP, I found the Proline Maxx Mulchers (the ones with the step pins) woked real good on sand.

Another point about sand bashing, be sure to clean anywhere that there is oil or greasy lube. Sand is attracted to oil. The one place that is the hardest to get to to clean is where the drive cups coume out of the diff. It's located behind the diff side plates and is a pain to get to. Probably easier with a pressure washer, but....

What about the proline sandpaw 2.2 tires?, I've seen it at Towers for a very good price but I've not been able to find it at Proline's site, is an old model? I need some tires for snow racing

I do, I clean mine religiously, after every run it gets cleaned, it's just a good habbit to get in to doing.
