thats correct....it is a dc input charger which comes with jumper cable clamplike ends but smaller which clamps onto a 12v battery.....i cut the clamps off my charger an soldered a cigaret plug to it so i can plug it up to my cigaret lighter outlet in my car & charge the battery packs on the way to the track.....if I'm charging at home i have a jumpstart thing for jumpstarting a real size car battery which has a cigaret outlet on it too so i can plug the charger into that if i wana.....if I'm gona be 2 or more days racing i have velcro on the back of the charger and the jumpstart unit so i just stick it to it to have a charger i can use in the pits if i need one...the jumpstart unit is wall outlet charged & will hold charge enough to run the quickcharger to charge 5-6 battery packs....you can get smaller jumpstart units than this one but this one was on sale for 20.00 so i got it.....
