hey savage guys.. I'm in the prosses of upgrading from a 21 to a ss and i got a good look at wannarunem's truck sunday.. the new trucks have a fuel filter inside the tank.. is there a way to take these out to clean um?? or do you just backwash them out??? seems like a good idea but what happens if it gets cloged?? if this is written out in the instructions for the truck then I'm sorry. . i havent recieved the truck yet.. thanks for your time later Blake
 
I clean the inside of all my tanks by filling them half up with denatured alcohol and have never had problems with old gunk getting out of the tank. I just did this the other day on a used K2 I got where the original tank had just some gummy substance inside of it and after soaking the inside with denatured alcohol, the tank became as good as new. I clean my inline fuel filters that have replacable stones, instead of replacing the stone I just take a soft old tooth brush and denatured alcohol to it.
 
I've never had to replace a filter in the tank before. The usually don't require any maitenance.

you have a new savage on the wat too :cheers: what are you going to name it? is it a boy or a girl?
 
well its not technally new.. its an ss thats been put together a 4 tanks for break in.. thats it.. selling the 21 today.. already sent the money for the ss so it should be here like thursday or friday.. dont know if its gonna be a boy or a girl.. have to see how the body comes out first. then ill name it.. my old 21 was named "maxx killa" cause my buddy would always break his maxx and i wouldnt break anything.. also the fact that he hit me.. hes doin about 25mph and I'm setting still.. breaks his swing arm, bends a shock, breaks a shock, and cracks a bulk head.. i drive away with a slightly bent shock that i straiten out later and replace the little o ring.. good as new... lol it was great!! i got pics!!
