I just bought a Savage Flux HP this week and finally got to use it (several times) today. I'm running 4s on it for now and absolutely loving it! BUT, I can't seem to pull off the standing backflips, which are claimed capable with 4s. It will just leave the ground a couple inches and flip over on it's top. Using completely stock settings. Is there anything I need to do? Are there others out there doing 4s backflips with flux hp?

Also, I'm using the stock setup spur gear/pinion gear-20/44T. Would ya'll recommend running 25/44T with 4s? What about with 6s?

All input is appreciated!

Actually the Flux HP will not do the back flips on 4s. You need the 6s to do it. Now the other version on Flux can on 4s; but 4s is the max voltage you can put to it. Yours, the Flux HP is a higher voltage system. So it can take up to 22 volts. I have not got to try mine on 6s yet either but I can't wait to do it!

I wouldn't jump up 5 teeth on the pinion at one time. That's a huge difference. Is that gear combo recommended for this rig in the manual? If so, you may be just fine, but expect tamer acceleration and a lot more top speed. With the power these machines make, "tamer" may be over doing it, but you'll notice a big difference non the less.:)

To back up Matt on this I would not run the 25 tooth with the 4s. All that is going to give you is more top end speed and lower your torque. Honestly I think mine is darn near too fast as it is. You can run the bigger pinon with the 6s no problem but again that is just more top end that is only useful in huge parking lots for high speed runs. If you get a couple 3s packs and leave the stock set-up you will be doing your back flips.......oh yeah

i have the sullution for you if you still havent resolved your issue.. your truck has to much torq start to set your punch at 70 or 80 percent. best grip for back flips is the street. also try this try doing a flip goint at 2mph or 3. I've done back flips with one 3cell lipo only..
