Hey there guys
I have had many savages over the years. I have just bought one second hand. supposedly a 25. I took the engine out and noticed that its says .25 on the side and also 3.5. I thought the .25 ones were 4.1cc and the 3.5cc ones were .21?
Which one is it?
Any feedback or help as always much appreciated.
 
Sounds like a Hot Bodies block. I had one that was a .26 but was also stamped 3.5. They had a run of engines like that. Now also keep in mind that HPI owns HB. So I would say yes you do have a .25 engine but the block has a typo...lol.

messed up as in dirty? lol. could do with some cleaner. the guy i got it off dint really take care of it. but its in good hands now. just been on hpi website and the .21 3.5 engine says it on the side but can't see another one like this one. It has the purple cooling head like the .25. I'm thinkin its one of the earlier models. still don't know what to make of it. lol

Yeah it is a .25 for sure. Like I said I have seen the same mistake before on HB engines made by HPI. DIRTY? Naw it is not that dirty....I have seen and had way worse man. If they are always clean that means you don't run them.
 
I had a mortor excatly like that one, ran like a raped ape. My friend had gotten a f4.6 and that the 3.5 seemed faster. I believe those where in the 25 build your own kit, much like the ss.
