I am aware that in most cases aluminum isn't a good idea,
but I was wondering if aluminum blulkheads are a good item to use?

I will be usuing plastic A-arms so are aluminum bulks good or bad?

Thanks!!

Sounds like you already know the risk reward of aluminum, If its only the bulkheads, other then adding a little weight I'd think you should be fine if you still have plastic arms. If you get in a big wreck the arms should give up first and act like a fuse so you don't do damage to the chassis.

Thanks guys!
thats exactly what I was thinking but wanted to be sure!

Oh and thanks for giving me a reason to tear down my trucks again!!

I love tear down and build up!

I easily spend as much time wrenching on my truck as I do running it! I agree tons of of fun tweaking it and making it perfect is good fun too.:)

It really kills me every time I hear of some one taking their RC to a shop to have it worked on.

It's a bit intimidating at first tearing down your first rc but one you get started man its addicting!

I must say,
Savage is a JOY to work on! One look at the thing screams durability.

I now have a Stampede ,Revo ,Savage 25 ,and Savage X and I hope to add a few( ehh 20 or 30 should do it?) more to the fleet before its over with.

Any ways thanks for your help!

Pics soon to come in savage forum.

Sure 20 or 30 should do it....but becareful it's like drugs. First you try it and like it. Then you do it with friends on the weekend....and it was under control. Next thing you know your garage is full and you are sitting up late at night playing and you neighbors are calling the cops and.....uh nevermind.

Absolutely. It's almost as bad as a NASCAR driver going to a gas station for a tire change during the race.
Wrenching on these is half the hobby. It's also what lets you know in advance what to be prepared for.
The shop only makes it run. It's up to you to make it run its' best in all conditions, and understand what needs to be done if it doesn't.
Just bashing without any wrenching makes this a dull hobby very quickly.
It's the satisfaction of seeing your knowledge perform that generates the addicting excitement.
If you're new to this, it's understandable. Just remember that we're all here to give our advise along the way.

Agreed with Every thing you just said.. man thats scary!

I've been in the hobby for about 3 years now and I still come up with extra screws when I rebuild my truck.. Is that a bad thing?

HAH! so true but its a great thing!

LMAO....not at all. It's a good thing. Saves fuel and increases speed by cutting down on the weight.

 Yea thats right!

Heck after a few rebuilds it wont take but a screw or two to take the entire thing apart!

Forget the screws... I use bubblegum and duct tape to hold some of my cars together. I guess that explains the car flying apart like a fireworks explosion in mid air, eh?

:LoL:Hah! Thats a new one to keep in mind..

I think I know what the problem is though, Use more duct tape next time!

Either that or light the truck on fire so next time they all fly off its a bit more of a display!
